Controlled Burn Tuesday in Nags Head

(Kill Devil Hills, N.C.) Foresters will conduct a controlled burn in the Outer Banks Tuesday. The burn will be in land managed by The Nature Conservancy in the Nags Head Woods Ecological Preserve. Organizers plan to ingite the fire at 11:00 a.m. It will take place on the marsh side of the preserve. The purpose of the burn is to reduce fuel, preventing wildfires which could affect the neighboring community.
